Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore

I have always loved the title of Mark Leckey's Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore but have never seen the whole piece until recently. It is an amazing 'art' film getting to the crux of what it is that makes youth culture/ nightclubs so compulsive and atmospheric. Check it out below.

Thanks for the Mark Leckey film...I love this!!

I havnt seen NM yet but, from what I have seen (and summit released rather a lot, I thought) I am already agreeing with you. Major issues for me so far are with hair and wardrobe, it feels like someone is trying to hard. Plus I was hugely disappointed by the sound track save, Thom Yorke and DCFC (again-some one trying to be to cool for school).

I do wonder if, when we look back on the box set, it will be Hardwicks Twilight that pulls at our heart strings for its innocence and pre Saga Machine feel. (Hardwicks 13 is good and sometimes I see that style creep into Twilight, all the better for it)

However, I will still love NM and see it multiple times. But I do have big hopes for David Slade and Eclipse.

I didnt mean for this to be such a long comment, sorry!

Thanks for the post Cathy.

Yes I think you are right about looking back on the innocence of Twilight. All the actors seem a little down on it and say it was really disorganised and hard to make. But I can't help thinking that the best work is often the hardest to make. Chris Weitz may be lovely but this doesn't make the film good. So on the plus side I haven't heard any nice comments about David Slade as yet - maybe he worked them really hard?

...thats a good point!!! They havnt said anything about Slade. Huh, I watched 30 days of night (took me a while as I am not good with horror) but I loved it, visually beautiful, and very subtle sound. Heres to the actors being over worked and grumpy on Eclipse.

I have got 30 days of Night sitting in front of me at the moment (I feel like you about horror) - am going to force myself to watch it tonight. I have seen Hard Candy which is a very low budget film and really dark - I found it quite a hard watch but liked it in retrospect. It looked good - very LA minimal and had a great performance by Ellen Page so he is obviously good with young actors. Eclipse will be very interesting I think, just hope he doesn't go too CGI
